KeyLogger Mask

Introduction

KeyLogger Mask is really two useful programs in one. Firstly, it acts as a repository for all of your various user names and passwords and secondly, provides you with another line of defence against the very real threat of 'keyloggers' - programs that can secretly hide in your computer, recording every single keystroke you make, sending, among other things, your login details to your eBay, PayPal, on line banking accounts.
KeyLogger Mask is not a SpyWare/Keylogger recognition or removal program - we thoroughly recommend the use of one of the proprietory programs available from download sites such as download.com (this site is particularly useful as you can read (mostly) honest user reviews of the effectiveness of the various programs available).
What KeyLogger Mask does do is copy your user names and passwords from a securely encrypted database into Window's Clipboard, allowing you to securely 'paste' your sensitive information into the various login screens. Without any typing of passwords, the login details become invisible to software programs and hardware devices that record and transmit your computer's keystrokes.

Operation

KeyLogger Mask is simple to use.
There is just one optional password required to encrypt and decrypt your data. The password (if any) you use is in addition to the comprehensive cryptographic algorithms used in the software. Using your own password means that any unauthorized access to the software only produces meaningless characters and symbols that cannot be used to access your personal data on your websites.
You should take careful note of the password you use - even if you were to send us the encrypted database file, we would be unable to work out the password you originally set.
If the correct password is not used to gain entry into the software, previously entered data cannot be edited, avoiding the risk of a third party corrupting your data.

Adding Sites to KeyLogger Mask

To add a site to the software, there are three text boxes at the bottom of the screen. The top most box is a name for the Site, you can type in the actual name of the website, or type in a coded name for the site (see extra security below). The second box is your login or user name and is an optional field. The final box is the password you use to gain access to your password enabled websites. Once you are happy with your settings, simply click 'Save' to add the data to the database.

Using KeyLogger Mask to access Websites

When you are at the login screen of your password protected website, locate that site's information from the list of sites you have entered into the software. Once you have clicked the site's title in KeyLogger Mask, the two buttons 'User Name' and 'Password' are enabled. Simply click on the relevant button to copy the details to Window's Clipboard and then place the cursor in the relevant box on the website and paste the details into the form (either by right-clicking and selecting 'Paste' from the popup menu, pressing the Control Key and the V key (Ctrl + V) or by holding the Shift and the Insert keys. The clipboard can only hold one piece of information at a time, some you will have to repeat the process if you need to enter both your user name and password. If you need to enter just your password (many browsers remember your user name), simply double click KeyLogger's Site Name to populate the clipboard with the password.
To edit or remove an entry from the database, simply locate the entry in the KeyLogger Mask list and click the right hand mouse button to select either of these two options.

Increasing Security

There are a number of security features built into the software as standard including a multi-tier encryption algorithm combined with an additional user-definable password encryption level. However, there are a number of other security steps you can take to further safeguard the integrity of your data.
Site Title - instead of entering the actual name of the site to which the password and user names refer to, use a coded or numeric title to represent the site. For instance, your bank could be 1, auction site 2, credit card 3 etc. etc.
Extra Characters - you can add extra characters at the end of the user name and password to further protect your identities - for example if your password is Xo3GYn11, you could enter your password as X03GYn113Mf (adding 3Mf to the end of the password). Then, when pasting the password onto the web form, simply press the backspace key 3 times to delete the irrelevant characters.
